It happens quiet often, that you go out in town to do some sort bank business, but when you arrive, doors are closed.

Thais are in the lucky situation to celebrate almost all sorts of holidays, Buddhist holidays, Muslim holidays and even some western holidays.

When ever a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, usually the following Monday all government offices & banks remain closed.

The best idea is to get a Thai calendar and look first before you go however, most shops in tourist areas remain open every day, only some smaller once under Chinese management close on Sundays
